Today I attended the full Shropshire Council meeting at Shirehall in Shrewsbury. Under an agenda item related to Council finances I suggested that the proposed 3,000 house development planned at junction 3 of the M54 will create an additional burden on the Council at a time when the council is looking to make cuts in order to balance the budget. I asked that the plans for the strategic site be shelved.
Peter Nutting, the leader of the Council, responded that it is not very unlikely to be brought forward. This is great news for the people of Tong, Albrighton and Shifnal.
